A Tribute to Dick Cheney

Wars, under Cheney’s influence, contributed to millions of deaths and displacements. A Brown University study estimates the post-9/11 wars (primarily Afghanistan and Iraq) killed ~4.5 million people and displaced 38 million.

Alt text: Dick Cheney sits for an interview in Jackson, Wyo., as part of a project on White House chiefs of staff.

Richard Bruce Cheney: (January 30, 1941 – November 3, 2025) was an American politician and businessman who served as the 46th vice president of the United States from 2001 to 2009 under President George W. Bush.

Dick Cheney, who served as U.S. Secretary of Defense (1989–1993) and Vice President (2001–2009), was a key architect of several major U.S.-led military interventions. He actively advocated for, planned, or oversaw these operations, often as a proponent of neoconservative foreign policy emphasizing preemptive action and regime change. While he never served in the military himself (receiving five draft deferments during the Vietnam War era), his roles made him a central figure in post-Cold War U.S. military strategy.

  • U.S. Invasion of Panama (Operation Just Cause)
  • Persian Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm)
  • U.S. Invasion of Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom)
  • U.S. Invasion of Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom)

These are the conflicts where Cheney had direct, high-level involvement—either overseeing operations or driving policy. Broader “support” (e.g., as a congressman in the 1980s, he backed aid to anti-communist insurgents in Afghanistan, Angola, and Nicaragua, but these were proxy conflicts, not U.S. wars he led). He also advocated for potential action against Iran and North Korea but did not oversee invasions.

Human Cost: These wars, under Cheney’s influence, contributed to millions of deaths and displacements. A Brown University study estimates the post-9/11 wars (primarily Afghanistan and Iraq) killed ~4.5 million people and displaced 38 million.

Influence in the Aftermath of 9/11

Cheney’s role extended far beyond that day, shaping U.S. policy for years:

Architect of the “War on Terror”: He was a driving force behind the invasions of Afghanistan (October 2001) and Iraq (March 2003), advocating for preemptive strikes and linking (falsely, as later debunked) Saddam Hussein to al-Qaeda. This “Cheney Doctrine” emphasized executive power, surveillance expansion (e.g., warrantless wiretapping), and “enhanced interrogation” techniques at sites like Guantanamo Bay.

Policy Legacy: His influence led to the Patriot Act, CIA black sites, and a peak public approval rating of 68% post-9/11. Critics, however, blame him for misleading intelligence on Iraq’s WMDs and ties to 9/11, contributing to over 800,000 deaths in related conflicts across multiple countries.

James Corbett on Dick Cheney:

Max Blumenthal’s Comments on Dick Cheney’s Death

“Dick Cheney died after a long life in which he cashed in handsomely on calamitous wars he launched on the basis of crude lies.

But his spirit lives on in the Trump administration, a collection of authoritarian knaves and white collar criminals who have escalated his bogus war on terror to pursue lucre through violent conquest in Venezuela, while bombing Iranian targets designated by apartheid Israel, and threatening to jail and deport those within their realm who disagree.

The Democrats, meanwhile, have attempted to salvage the image of the Cheney family, making Liz Cheney the star surrogate of Kamala’s historically inept 2024 campaign, hailing her as an icon of American democracy, and even praising her father for his “service.” They did this purely because the Cheneys opposed Trump, as if that was sufficient to atone for their seminal role in torture, criminal deception, the maiming of thousands of US service members and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.

Dick Cheney may be physically dead but the most odious characteristics of his leadership and legacy have been distilled into the essence of the US regime.”

David’s Stack of Stuff (Sunday March 7th, 2021)

by DAVID BROWN | CLEARNFO.com | March 7th, 2021

Of course we are still living in the aftermath of the unabashed, in-your-face political coup which installed a globalist puppet into the Oval Office to continue the work his establishment predecessors teed up before the four year pause created by naïve outsider Trump.  The Trump phenomenon must have scared the holy crap out of our globalist masters since they are moving so quickly to secure their control and make sure this never happens again.  Unlike the tepid Trump, Biden’s controllers have no problem firing and hiring the right people to promote their agenda.  So as Trump exits, we are left to deal with this mess.  The great hope of returning America to a nationalistic stance has now been upended; we are rushing at warp speed to secure globalist control of every citizen and asset in this country— the law be damned and the Constitution be damned.  At this point it is crystal clear the FBI, DOJ, Supreme Court, Big-tech and the MSM are all part of the coup.   Even the military –who some believed would protect this Republic– are now protecting not the Republic– but the traitors hunkered down in Washington, DC.  This same military has no problem following orders happily killing innocent men, women and children in Syria for no good reason whatsoever just to please the psychotic frauds they serve.

Why is the Capitol still so heavily guarded? Something doesn’t add up… 1) Politicians finally figured out how much the public hates them or 2) Because Biden is the most popular president?

Why is it that the most popular President in history still hasn’t had a press conference?

This week, I’ve collected an amazing collage of interesting and enlightening articles, videos and podcasts for your edification.  So much great new information and so little time.

Focus on the crime and villainy surrounding the COVID project…

Confessions of a Normie

by DAVID BROWN | CLEARNFO.com | October 28, 2020

I use to be a normie.

But I’ve learned truth is rare, necessary for survival and hard to come by,  so now I’m a collector of data points.  I collect data points until a picture emerges which may point my way to truth.

I am of the age of the US-Vietnam conflict era.  Too young to be drafted, but I did get a draft card near the end of the war.   I remember being in high school and watching “the most trusted man in America” tell us “…And that’s the way it is,” at the end of each broadcast.  The  name of this trusted figure was Walter Cronkite.  I later learned this man couldn’t be trusted at all. In fact Walter had a big secret to hide.   See video.   I remember the nightly body bag count and seeing black body bags and flag-draped metal coffins full of dead boys about my age being loaded into the back of large military planes for shipment back to the USA. Neither I nor any of my friends in high school knew why we were way over there fighting this bloody, unwinnable war in a land far, far away.  We were told we were fighting against the Godless communists who desired  to enslave us all, but something just didn’t seem to make sense to our young minds.

I remember the Vietnam memorial –the wall of names– and I remember mothers going to that wall to see their son’s name and to make a trace of their memory.

I was nine when someone shot the president  in the head in broad daylight.  I still remember the horrible feelings I had that day.  I remember the Warren Report and thinking something is just not right, but I accepted the official story and moved on with my life.

I remember the attacks on 9/11 and I remember the official story as told by the news media and by the 9/11 Commission thinking something is just not right about this story; so this time, I paused and started to observe and study.  Yes, I did move on with my life, but I had enough data points to start asking questions about what I believed to be true.  And I did.  The answers were unexpected.

I read a lot of books, written mostly by very careful historians who do not make their statements lightly, or  without the documentation to back them up. Some like Antony C. Sutton paid a price for their honesty.  Among my favorite are:

Reading List:

What I learned

We were lied into the following wars by our government and by our media…

  • The Spanish American war
  • World War I
  • World War II
  • The Korean War
  • The Vietnam War
  • The Invasion of Iraq
  • The Invasion of Afghanistan
  • The attack and intervention in Libya
  • The intervention and civil war in Syria
  • The civil war in Ukraine

James Perloff does an excellent job summarizing many of these lies in his PowerPoint and lecture.

So today in the year 2020 as I sit here writing these words, I am no longer a normie.  I don’t believe anything our government or our established media tell us.  What they say is just another data point to consider; to collect and to compare with other data points — and observable facts, when available.   What I do know, is that these lies cannot be a mistake and are therefore used to control and enslave us — to herd us like livestock to be skinned and rendered– so long as we believe the lies.  The cure is simple.  Stop believing their lies and do it now.   If you don’t want to be treated like livestock, stop acting like livestock.

The solution above was exposed some 500 years ago in an excellent book called ‘The Politics of Obedience: The Discourse of Voluntary Servitude’ by Etienne de la Boetie

9/11 Was a Revenue Enhancement Project

by DAVID BROWN | CLEARNFO.com | September 20, 2020

After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, US Military spending declined rapidly – see chart below.  The Neocons and the US Military Industrial Complex needed a new bad guy to scare US taxpayers. A group of Neocons (William Kristol and Robert Kagan) formed the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) in 1997 to come up with a solution.  PNAC proclaimed “the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor.”   At the time, few realized that the new Pearl Harbor would go-live September 11, 2001.

Defense Spending

BTW, Robert Kagan is married to the lady (Victoria Nuland) who ran the violent regime change in Ukraine for the Obama State Department.

On the matter of Memorial Day

by DAVID BROWN | CLEARNFO.com | May 27, 2018

Before the events of 9/11, I knew that the Vietnam War was based on a lie that cost millions of innocent civilian lives, 58,220 American lives and countless wounded; but I still held out a belief of the good war like WWII. Later I learned that WWII and WWI were both based on lies too. I then read Smedley Butler’s ‘War is a Racket’ and listened to James Perloff’s excellent lecture on the major wars of the 20th Century and discovered that the United States was not about spreading democracy and freedom, but about a hidden force of economic and geopolitical interests who orchestrated these wars for their own personal agendas.

Historical Revisionism and the Conspiratorial View of History

by DAVID BROWN | CLEARNFO.com | December 23, 2017

Historical Revisionism and the Conspiratorial View of History

Though the ranks are thinning, there still exists today those who believe the official stories of the JFK assassination (40%) and the attacks on 9/11 (50%).

Despite great progress in rational, evidence-based discovery of fact and the clear refutation of official false-narratives promulgated by the US Government and its protectors surrounding JFK and 9/11, there is much less progress in other major historical events: great swaths of people still cling to many historical myths too uncomfortable to question. Some of these myths are so dangerous 17 countries have found it necessary to fine or imprison any who may question ‘settled history’. It seems certain areas of the historical record are off limits; today’s history requires laws –in place of evidence– to protect questionable official assertions.

NIST and the 9/11 coverup

by DAVID BROWN | CLEARNFO.com | Mar 24, 2017

One must ask why the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) would hide the truth from the American people, making NIST and its leadership accessories after the fact in a crime conducted by elements within America’s own government. The need and desirability of this ‘New Pearl Harbor’ event was presaged by a US think tank in 1997 called the Project for the New American Century (PNAC); and in articles from the Council on Foreign Relations’ (CFR) publication called Foreign Affairs.  Smelling a rat in the preposterous NIST report, 2,841 Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth banded together to present conclusive evidence that the 9/11 Commission Report’s conclusions are simply a physical impossibility; in short, the official story is a complete fabrication by the US Government.

To make matters worse for this official myth,  a former NIST employee presents additional damning evidence 9/11 was an inside job;   but it doesn’t stop there. Much more evidence is available; evidence that does not require ANY physical data to prove up this case conclusively to the rational mind.  This evidence has been carefully chronicled and documented by researchers like Richard Grove and James Corbett (see Corbett’s 9/11 Suspects here).

So why is it so important to hold the real perpetrators accountable? Because the perpetrators of this crime against America are the same people in charge of the levers of power today.  They are still very dangerous to the interests of the American people, and seek –not America’s benefit– but their own selfish agenda.   Who benefitted from the 9/11 project?  There are many who benefitted, but those who make their living from the American war machine benefitted most.

Why 9/11 was necessary

After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, America’s #1 bad guy was no more; and defense spending was taking a frightful downturn, requiring a new, more permanent, intractable  enemy to motivate the American public to spend to be safe. They needed a “new Pearl Harbor”.

Enter Project for the New American Century (PNAC) .  According to PNAC and others who feed at the US Military Industrial Complex (MIC) trough, it was necessary to discover or invent another scary bad guy to replace the now deceased Soviet Union;  but this time, this new frightful enemy should go on forever, and not end suddenly like the Soviet Union did.  9/11 was the perfect project to solve their spending problem, and to create in their own words “A new Pearl Harbor”:  transformation of American armed forces through “new technologies and operational concepts” was likely to be a long one, “absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor.”

As a result of the 9/11 Project, millions of innocent people have lost their lives and been dislocated from their homes in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).  Meanwhile, the bank accounts of the MIC once again are swollen with trillions, and the bankers are happy too. Today, as people tire of the War on Terrorism meme, this same MIC –with the help of the Main Stream Media (MSM)–  are attempting to resurrect and restimulate America’s decade’s-old fear of the big bear, Russia.  It doesn’t matter that the Soviet is no more, they believe they can demonize Russia with the help of the corporate media and poison the minds of the American people enough to resurrect fears so profitable decades ago.   It’s time to stop being their fool. Now.

In August of 2016, a former employee of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) began looking into the reports his agency had released years earlier on the collapse of the World Trade Center. What he found shook him to the core.

In this poignant half-hour interview, Peter Michael Ketcham tells his story of discovering that the organization where he had worked for 14 years had deliberately suppressed the truth about the most pivotal event of the 21st century.

Through his willingness to look openly at what he failed to see in front of him for 15 years, Mr. Ketcham inspires us to believe that we can all muster the courage to confront the truth — and, in so doing, finally heal the wounds of 9/11.

James Corbett’s 9/11 Suspects

9/11 Suspects

Below, you will find a list of 9/11 Suspects compiled by James Corbett of the Corbett Report.  Since the top levels of our Government –including the CIA, NSA, FBI, DOJ, DOD, NIST and others– have been co-opted and corrupted, there has been no real investigation or indictments of any of the actual perpetrators involved in the 9/11 Project since  September 11, 2001. Therefore, it is up to the good citizens of the USA and of the world to bring forth our own investigations and indictments.  Below, James has taken this idea of identifying the real 9/11 suspects and brought it to life in the excellent videos that follow.  As James continues to identify new  suspects and present evidence, I will post the respective videos here on this page.   Thank you James for your excellent work!

9/11 Suspects: Christine Todd Whitman

9/11 Suspects: Rudy Giuliani

9/11 Suspects: Philip Zelikow

9/11 Suspects: Robert Baer

9/11 Suspects: General Ralph Eberhart

9/11 Suspects: The Dancing Israelis

Project 9/11: Benefits

Accountable Government

by DAVID BROWN | CLEARNFO.com | April 14, 2016

Ground Zero

Ground Zero

Everyone seems to have their pet peeves or core issues when it comes to politics: race, jobs, abortion, education, ‘fill in the blank’. I’m mostly a libertarian since I just want to be left alone and I leave almost everyone else alone to do as they please. Everyone else’s rights end where my nose begins and of course this goes both ways. Live and let live, etc. And over the years, I’ve looked at government spending and abuse. I’ve noted that the more money you give to the government, the less money and freedom for everyone else. This is always the case despite your politics. But it’s more than money, since government has a monopoly on force and violence and can do many other things that would be illegal for the average citizen. Government has set itself up with special powers, but it is really not that special since it is just a collection of people much like any corporate body. But without the special powers of violence, force and without the discipline of a balance sheet or income statement, it is not constrained by the laws of economics as are all those subject to its control. Thus, we have a powerful and potentially evil group of men riding herd over the rest of us. Without the constraint of law or our constitution, there would be nothing to slow down or stop its natural growth in power, scope and size until one day –like a tumor– it consumes the body that feeds it; and it too will die.

So my basic political formula goes like this: More power and money to the government = less power and freedom for the individual.

This is the prism I use to view my politics. Many disagree with this assessment. They feel that government is here to take care of the poor, the needy, to build roads and bridges and to make sure we all behave. The government in a real sense for these folks, is like the big Daddy or Father of the family of humanity and many in government see this as their job too. But without constraints on government the men who control government will naturally be turned over to their own delusions and desires and we all suffer. This is always the case. So what to do? Well, you could have a set of fundamental laws and principles that are immutable; designed to constrain this beast we call a government, and we have such a thing called the US Constitution. While not perfect, it has mechanisms built in for change. All laws in this country by definition must therefore be based on this founding document or they are by definition illegal. In fact, all our government officials are required to swear an oath to defend and protect this document as a requirement of their employment. So there is no one in this country who can legally take away the rights, liberties and freedoms guaranteed by this document and we are thus said to be a ‘Nation of Laws’. The laws are there to protect us all. This includes the majority and the minorities. The majority for example cannot vote to take away the rights, freedoms or the property of the minority, or even those of a single individual, no matter how popular it might be. So it is a surprise for many to discover that this country is not a democracy and never has been a democracy; because in a democracy two wolves and a sheep could vote on what to have for dinner, and the sheep likely wouldn’t fare so well. In a republic –like we have– the sheep’s rights as an individual would be protected.

But even with all these protections in law, if you have a nation of people without morals or character, you will find you have created a government in your image who likewise has no morals or character, but unlike you, this government has a monopoly on power and force and so, is no longer constrained by anything but its own selfish desires.

This is where we find ourselves today.

Part of being a moral person with character is to hold yourself and your government accountable.

  • This means when your government lies you into wars that kill millions of innocent people, you must take a stand and hold this government accountable.
  • This means when your government murders in cold blood, in broad daylight one of your presidents, you must hold this government accountable.
  • This means when your government spies illegally on its citizens, you must hold the government accountable.
  • This means when your government lies to you about the attacks on 9/11, you must hold those responsible accountable; otherwise they will conclude they can do the same thing again.
